The Invisible Burden: How Overproduction Smothers Your Factory Floor
In traditional manufacturing, there is a comforting rhythm to a machine running at full capacity. We look at a workstation churning out parts ahead of schedule and think, “That’s high efficiency.” We look at a warehouse packed with stacks of components and think, “That’s our safety net.”

Downstream processes withdraw exactly what they need to fulfill their hourly pitch-rate, which instantly releases a Kanban signal to the upstream process. This signal serves as the only authorization for the upstream team to manufacture a replenishment piece.
