 6. Create Continuous Flow

Flow is the state where a product never stops moving.

  • The Mechanics: Rearrange equipment into Work Cells (often U-shaped) to minimize walking distance and transportation.

  • The Deep Dive: Focus on "One-Piece Flow." By processing one unit at a time, you catch defects immediately, whereas in "Batch" processing, you might produce 1,000 defects before realizing the machine is out of alignment.
